There used to be two outlets along this same stretch but the other has shut down. Chicken rice is good as always. I like their otah and crispy sotong too. Their fish head is also superb!! And this is the only restaurant where I order lime juice as I feel it complements the entire meal perfectly! Just my personal preference 😂
Ordered chicken rice, signature hainanese chicken, curry fish head, pork chop, hot plate tofu, spinach, prawn roll. Food is definitely 5 stars. The curry fish head is very authentic and delicious. The hainanese chicken also 5 stars. Can give the pork chop a miss - hard and relatively tasteless.
Service rather slow. Atmosphere quite normal. Not thing special. Had a quick meal and leave.
Will return for the good food
The curry fish head is really disappointing. The curry tasted very salty which is bad for elderly. Been eating Pow Sing since young but this time round the curry fish is tasted not like the normal standard. Even a zi char curry fish taste better than Pow Sing. In the end, we separated the fish and curry, and ate the fish head instead. We didn’t take the curry. Definitely not coming back to Pow Sing again. It has since lost its usual standard.
Smell of the toilet accompanies my table right at the back of the shop. Quote my bf, the fried squid taste like ikan bilis, I'm like very expensive plate of ikan bilis then, die also must down it. the sweet and sour pork, feels like 辣子鸡 style eh,more veg than meat though I'm glad not much meat cause not nice 🤣🤣. They forgot our beehoon order so we told them just cancel we change it to one plate chicken rice since seems like it's their signature and to give them benefit of doubt at least there's a chance for more stars, but server said they doing already, which he forgot he sat us near the toilet which is beside the kitchen, so we can hear the cook say he didn't know this is an other, lecturing him next time be more clear in writing the chit, GGGGGGGGG~ so they rush to serve the beehoon with the dude’s finger touching the soup. Can't believe I closed my eyes and ate it, and to make it worst, the beehoon so under cooked I can barely chew it and its went down like golden mushroom, “see you tomorrow” in the toilet the next day kind.
Cosy place that's been there for many many years. Food quality is always good. Love their chicken rice and Tofu. Always up to standard.
Curry fish head is below the standard, I have taken it before and they were full of curry flavor, thick and lemak but now is disappointing especially I tell and bring my friends there. The picture shows.
It’s heartbreaking to see such a iconic chicken rice restaurant deteriorating over the years. The chicken was at best average, lacking seasoning and the usual aromatics found when poaching or roasting a chicken. Kangkung belacan was spicy and fragrant, making it the best dish for the night. Other than that, all the other dishes were pretty much average.
Sauce on the chicken is a tad too salty. Curry fishhead is not too spicy. Cabbage roll with otah taste bland and the cabbage is a bit hard to bite off. Soup is salty and we have to ask the staff to change it. Omelette and veggie taste good. Its quite expensive for such standard. Was expecting much more.
